One week

i wrote this for an assignment. it’s called One Week. i’ll probably incorporate this into my final play. inspired by a line from Radiohead’s All I need, “I am all the days that you choose to ignore”

If one of us died we’d take a week to find out.

That’s what we are. We are one week. We are ash-coloured memories of the past six days. We are Hi-Fives and Hi-Byes and SeeYaLaters. We are four right fingers against four left ones. We are three songs away to our very next kiss. We are two different people with one stolen glance.

We are stuck in a week between past heartaches and future heartbreaks.

We are a week away and you’re the only day I look forward to.
