Psychology Freshmen Orientation 2008!

was a success! the freshies looked like they really enjoyed themselves and things went well for the seniors too! nothing went wrong! other than me falling asleep in front of everyone though. HAHA. 6hrs of sleep in 2 days was starting to get to me.. i finally had a decent night’s rest last night. short, but decent amount. still kept nodding off while doing work just now HAHA

the theme is NTU SLK, which stands for Nanyang Technological University Siao Lang Keng, translated from hokkien will mean NTU mental institute. the main idea was to get the freshies to run around the whole school looking for ‘mental patients’ (seniors) and differentiate between mental disorders that are very commonly mixed up, for example, the most common mistake of all -dissociative identity disorder and schizophrenia.

i was part of the organising committee with amos, while the other two of the psychfriends (mm and virn) were mental patients- echolalia (compulsive verbal repetition of words) sufferer and anorexic girl, respectively.

mm: “they (freshies) kept making me say that i’m gay.”

the groups were named after psychologists.. and how can we not use our favourite Russian psychologist name?
